“It’s so important that we include every sister. Let’s not forget the women who are serving in Primary or Young Women. There are many…women in our wards. Please find them, love them, and bring them into the circle of sisterhood. Don’t assume…[do] your part to get to know them.” (Kathleen H. Hughes, In Covenant with Him, Ensign, Nov 2003)
”Sisters, you are each like the lioness at the gate. This means that there has to be some prioritizing. I was taught years ago that when our priorities are out of order, we lose power. If we need power and influence to carry out our mission, then our priorities have to be straight.” (Julie B. Beck, BYU Women’s Conference, 2010)

“Parents must bring light and truth into their homes by one family prayer, one scripture study session, one family home evening, one book read aloud, one song, and one family meal at a time. They know that the influence of righteous, conscientious, persistent, daily parenting is among the most powerful and sustaining forces for good in the world. The health of any society, the happiness of its people, their prosperity, and their peace all find common roots in the teaching of children in the home.” (L. Tom Perry, Mothers Teaching Children in the Home, Ensign, Apr 2010)
“We don’t have to be perfect today. We don’t have to be better than someone else. All we have to do is to be the very best we can.” (Elder Joseph B. Wirthlin)

“Much of the major growth
that is coming to the Church in the last days
will come because many of the good women of the world
will be drawn to the Church in large numbers.
This will happen to the degree that the women of the Church
reflect righteousness and articulateness in their lives and
to the degree that the women of the church are seen
as distinct and different –in happy ways–
from the women of the world. ”
President Spencer W. Kimball,
November 1979 Ensign

“If only you could see the vision as I have. I wish I had your bodies to do this work. I would run from house to house telling everyone of the Gospel, and after I had lost my strength to run I would walk, after I had collapsed from walking I would begin to crawl, and after my knees were so bloody, I’d use my arms to drag myself, and once every muscle in my body was gone I would begin to yell! Oh, if only you could see the vision that I have.” (President Spencer. W. Kimball)

I'm mostly described as "crazy/unique", "confident/brave", and "creative/talented". These adjectives can also be confused with "awesome", "rude", and "confused." But it's whatever :)
I was raised in what I call a "strict" LDS family, but again, as we saw earlier, adjectives vary from person to person! I moved out of my parent's house two months before I graduated from high school and I didn't go to church for two and a half years after that. I can totally relate to Alma the Younger.
Because of my experiences not going to church my testimony was strengthened in the gospel of Jesus Christ. I'm not saying it's okay to not go to church;it's a personal decision and conversion. If you haven't tried it, you should.
Living (or trying) to live as Christ would is the world's best kept beauty secret. Look at pictures of me now, and pictures of me then. Seriously.
For me, I was able to realize that I really actually did have a testimony of the gospel and see the difference in me living the gospel versus me not living the gospel. I'm active now, so no one freak out, okay?

You've seen some of the family and you'll probably learn more about them periodically through this LDS lifestyle blog. But, this section is a little about me. Since I've shared some other details here, I'll share a summary of my LDS story.
I have LDS family that have been in the church for generations. Others more recent. I periodically attended the Catholic church as a very small child then went to the LDS church a handful of times after that. My Aunt Kris started taking me pretty regularly as a preteen. (I will eternally be grateful to her for that.) I could feel the difference being there though I didn't have the words then to articulate that it was the Spirit I felt. It just spoke to me and I wanted to be there. Shortly after that, my parents started going and several years later I was sealed to them. Ever since I've been an active participant.
LDS NEST is a brainchild of the lifestyle I've come to love. But, just because you love something doesn't mean there isn't a learning curve. In fact, I'm still learning how to live it but it's been the greatest guide in my life.

LDS women have high expectations and sometimes low enthusiasm, are over burdened while under equipped,
blame inwardly while comparing outwardly, and
often publicly give without personally getting.
If this is you, then you are us.
Help is here.
